Ida Lou "Maw" Reed, 89, of Samburg passed away 11:27 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Gary Reed, Randy Reed, Ryan Reed, Barry Arnett and Jordan Davis.
Ida was born January 26, 1935, in Samburg, daughter of the late Johnny Leonard and Louella (Stone) McTurner. She married Isaac Leroy Reed January 1, 1950. He preceded her in death July 8, 2008. Ida had been employed as a transit driver for Northwest Tennessee Transit Authority and was a member of Troy First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Gilbert and Jo Ann Riddle both of Samburg; three sons, Gary L. Reed of Howell, Michigan, Isaac L. Reed of Redford Michigan and Randy L. Reed of Mary Esther, Florida; three sisters, Sharon Cranford of Troy, Dorothy Hale of Hornbeak and Kay LeGate and husband Roger of Trenton; three brothers, Johnny McTurner and wife Sandra and Doyle McTurner and wife Laura all of Union City and Jerry McTurner of Samburg; twelve grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Crystal Gilbert; two sisters, Myrtle Lee Williams and Gail Theriac; and one brother, W.C. McTurner.
