Mr. James Homer Luker, 68, of Union City died 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Graddy, Jeremiah Brock, James Luker, Jon Vallee, Jeremy Scott and Randy Bridges.
Mr. Luker was born January 14, 1946, in Obion County, son of the late Homer Xanthus and Ethel Lorraine (Smith) Luker. He married Shirley Ann (Council) Luker October 15, 1971. She died April 9, 2012. Mr. Luker was a member of Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by four daughters, Nyanza Dawn Luker, Santana Hope Luker and Jessica Anna Luker all of Union City and Pamela Kathleen Luker of Kenton; one son, James Vollie Luker of Union City; one sister, Daisy Edna Jeter of Paris; two brothers, Pleas Luker of the Sidonia community and Don Luker of Phoenix, Arizona; four granddaughters, Santana Luker and Jessica Luker both of Union City and Kadys Luker and Brooke Bridges both of Kenton; his mother-in-law, Camilla Jean Council of the Crystal community; his sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Tidwell and Vollie and Ray Boehms all of Troy, and Joyce and Gene Baggett and Rosanna Bowman all of the Crystal community; and several nieces and nephews.
