Helen Roberson Shirkey, 92, of Troy went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 4, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Brad Buford and Pastor Paul Ray Cagle will officiate. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery near Troy.

Pallbearers will be Gary Shirkey, Ty Ragsdale, Eric Klinkhammer, Preston Buford, Eric Halford and Ben Phillips.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.

Helen was born June 27, 1931, in Hickman, Kentucky, daughter of the late Leonard Huelyn and Dolly Arvel (Jarred) Wilmurth. She married Thomas Loyd Roberson October 9, 1948. He preceded her in death March 9, 1992. She married Maurice Shirkey May 31, 1998. He preceded her in death July 25, 2020. Helen was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Union City where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, greeter and sung in the choir. She was a care giver.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Miller and husband Skip of Union City and Sandy Robinson and husband Lynn of Troy; one son, Loyd Roberson and wife Sharon of Troy; six grandchildren, Michelle Yates and husband Glen of Hornbeak, Stephanie Johnson and husband Michael and Johnna Ragsdale and husband Ty all of Troy, Brent Robinson and wife Christina of Nolensville, Kristy Klinkhammer and husband Eric of Dyersburg and Thomas Roberson III of Dyersburg; eleven great grandchildren, Autumn Frye, Hanna Yates, Chandler Yates, Alea Ragsdale, Chloe Ragsdale, Jonna Ragsdale, Madison Johnson, Luke Robinson, Kaylee Robinson, Hayes Klinkhammer and Warren Klinkhammer; three great great grandchildren, Elliana Butler, Beckham Frye and Mark Grayson Butler and is expecting another great great grandson in October; one stepson, Gary Shirkey and wife Julie; five stepdaughters, Kay Shirkey, Gail Galbraith, Rachel Smith and husband Gene, Roberta Cooper and husband John and Colina Roberts; and several step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Gaines, Adelle Goodman, Bessie Morris and Opal Chilton; and one brother, Travis Wilmurth.
