Mr. Harold Edward Ray, 79, of Union City died 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe and Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Wallace, Larry Elliott, Jimmy Hayes, Millard Hayes, Ronnie Miller and Gene Bone.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wesley McClure Sunday School Class and members of the E-Z Rodders Car Club of West Tennessee.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Ray was born August 12, 1935, in Obion County, son of the late Frank and Byrt (Johnson) Ray. He married Lenora (Hepler) Ray on September 4, 1998. She survives. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Wesley McClure Sunday School Class. He was a self employed carpenter and sold new and used furniture for many years in Union City. Mr. Ray was also a member of the Army National Guard 913th Engineer Company in Union City for 13 years and a member of E-Z Rodders Car Club of West Tennessee.
He is also survived by three sons, Van Ray of Englewood Lake, Vince Ray of Atlanta, Ga. and Donnie Etheridge of Edmond, Ok.; two daughters, Melissa Marcy and Connie Miller of Union City; seven grandchildren, C.J. Miller, Ty Miller, Makayla Miller and Samantha Marcy, all of Union City, Jackson Etheridge and Tim Etheridge of Edmond, Ok. and Justin Ray of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, McKinlee Pollard and Karsyn Miller of Union City and two sisters, Gerry Klenke of Memphis and Vivian Cole of Germantown, Tn.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Grooms.
