February 4, 1967 – February 26, 2019
Harold Dwayne Cochran, 52, of Troy went home to be with the Lord Tuesday night, February 26, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Union City. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Byrd, David Hagan, Joey Tucker, Kurt Gansereit, Kyle Kirk, Ashley Jordan and Jackie Starks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Hand, Bill Townsend and Curtis Lents.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 2250 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Harold was born February 4, 1967, in Union City, son of Shirley (Jenkins) Miller of Troy and the late Claude A. Cochran, Sr. He married Tonya (Ross) Cochran March 4, 2006. She survives. Harold had served in the United States Air Force and the Tennessee Air National Guard. He was employed by the University of Tennessee at Martin as senior broadcasting engineer for WUTM for 26 years. Harold was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City where he was chairman of sound committee, enjoyed taking mission trips with the church, had been a part of the Tennessee brick laying team, was a former Royal Ambassador leader and a former Sunday School teacher. He loved southern gospel music and was a member of the Frog Jump Gospel Quartet.
He is also survived by his four children, Laura Ashley Byrd (Kevin) of Fulton, Kentucky, Adam Sadler of Union City, Zach Cochran of Obion and Jacob Cochran of Troy; his stepfather, Jim Miller of Troy; two sisters, Teresa Townsend (Bill) of Church Hill and LaVanche Hand (Pete) of Frog Jump; one brother, Claude Cochran, Jr. (Diane) of Frog Jump; one half brother, Richard Cochran of Lewisville, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Emily Cochran and Jocelyn Byrd both of Fulton, Kentucky and Ainsley Sadler and Hudson Sadler both of Union City.
