Obituary

Mr. Hans Georg Knoff, 71, of Union City died 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013, at his home.

Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Alabama.

There will be no visitation.

Mr. Knoff was born April 18, 1942, in Lodz, Poland, son of the late Hans Georg Nebel and the late Adele Anna Knoff. He married Frankye (Hawkins) Knoff May 29, 1982. She survives. Hans retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service as Chief of Personnel at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He served in the Vietnam War and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Phenix City, Alabama.

He is also survived by his daughter, Melissa Nolen of New York City, New York; his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Stephanie Nolen of Tallahassee, Florida; and two grandchildren, Chole Nolen and Grayson Nolen both of Tallahassee, Florida.
