Guy Ples Carter, 70, of Union City passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, at his home.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Guy was born September 22, 1955, in Cameron, Louisiana, son of the late William Ray Carter, Sr. and the late Jean (McManus) Carter. He married Vickie Lee (Hartley) Carter May 22, 2007. Guy had been employed as a law enforcement officer and at Williams Sausage. He was an avid hunter and Green Bay Packers fan.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Carter of Union City; one son, Michael Carter (Marnie) of Murray, Kentucky; two step daughters, Racheal Wilson (Jason) of Cedar Creek, Missouri and Sharon Houck (Justin) of Baldwin, Missouri; two step sons, Robert Tynes of Mayfield, Kentucky and Jerry Tynes of Union City; two sisters, Susan Norman (Jay) of Fancy Farm, Kentucky and Jeanie Cossey (Steve) of Westlake, Louisiana; one brother, Kenneth Carter (Karen) of Fancy Farm, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Bonnette; and two brothers, William Ray Carter, Jr. and Larry Carter.
