Gerry Poole, 83, of Union City passed away 1:50 a.m. Monday, January 1, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Forrest Poole will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Cort Poole, Forrest Poole, Tyler Poole, Jake Parry, Vance Parry and David Walley.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959 or Shady Grove Methodist Church in care of Kay Bransford, 3520 North Shady Grove Road, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Gerry was born December 15, 1940, in Fulton, Kentucky, son of the late Joseph Sullivan "Doc" Poole and the late Geneva (Edwards) Poole. He married Tammie (Burress) Poole August 29, 2006. Gerry had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Company the former K Tool & Dye and the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was a warranty administrator for the former Mike Petty Motors, Herman Jenkins Motors and Kenton Chevrolet. Gerry was a gold and silver dealer and enjoyed traveling especially out West, listening to southern gospel music and riding his great niece on the golf cart. He was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie Poole of Union City; his daughter, Cammie Poole Collins of Mobile, Alabama; his son, Anthony Poole and wife Jannie of Palmersville; his bonus son, Eric Catron and wife Tiffany of Milan; his grandson, Tyler Poole and wife Lacey of Paducah, Kentucky; his great granddaughter, Leighton Pruett of Paducah, Kentucky and is expecting a great granddaughter, Shiloh Poole in February; four sisters-in-law, Doris Poole, Cathy Duncan, Michelle Bethel and Lisa Pace all of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Monty Poole; his nephew, Joel S. Poole; his stepson, Ryan Puckett;his stepdaughter, Devonda Orsborne.
