George Goddard, 79, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 2:15 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Dave Reinhard will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Crackel, Calvin Jarrett, Jonathan Snider, Ryan Snider, Jonathan Reyna, Garrett Quinn and Hunter Quinn.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Due to family members with compromised immune system the family requests that those attending the visitation and funeral service to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, Tennessee 38281.

George was born July 11, 1941, in Backus Mountain, West Virginia, son of the late James David and Florence (Fink) Goddard. He married Evy (Cain) Goddard June 23, 1963. She survives. George retired as an electrician from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 27 years of service. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Martin, Goodyear SOAR Retirees and served in the United States Army.

He is also survived by his three children, Jeff Goddard (Maricel) and Shannon Sasseen (Monty) all of Nashville and Darla Roberts (Ryan) of Troy; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Crackel (Abrea), Jonathan Snider (Ashley), Jessica Reyna (Jonathan), Ryan Snider (Ashton), Ian Roberts, J.P. Bearden, E.J. Goddard and Gabe Goddard; seven great grandchildren, Esau Reyna, Ellie Snider, Evelyn Jaymes Reyna, Adaline Snider, Remington Snider, James Crackel, IV and Easton Snider; two sisters, Betty Bennett of Beckley, West Virginia and Patsy Ritter of Nolanville, Texas; one sister-in-law, Goldie Goddard of Kansas City, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one son, George Steve Goddard, II; six sisters, Bertha Shifflett, Irene Ward, Evelyn Cummins, Ethel Lively, Pauline Morris and Lucille Bunch; three brothers, Harold Goddard, Bobby Goddard and Buster Goddard; and one great granddaughter, Lydia Reyna.
