Mr. George T. Davis, 82, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012, at his home with his wife Nancy (Owens) Yates Davis at his bedside.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.

Pallbearers will be Dale Owens, Teddy Montgomery, Danny Boyd, Ron Bates, Bobby Hill, Wayne Baker and Mark Breeden.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McClure and George Goddard.

Mr. Davis served in the United States Air Force for twenty six years. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. After his military service he served as Postmaster in Geary, Oklahoma for sixteen years. He worked many years as a driver for Trailways Bus Line. He enjoyed this career very much as he was an avid traveler.

Mr. Davis' greatest love was his relationship with Jesus Christ and his church family. Even when he was very ill he did his best to attend church at First Assembly of God in Union City where he was a member.

He is also survived by sons, Thomas A. "Tad" Davis and James Randall "Randy" Davis; daughter, Michele Jobe; granddaughter, Stephanie Larkins; grandsons, Matthew Moore and Jonathan Moore; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Hill and Ruth Collins both of Union City, Martha Glut of Hendersonville, and Juanita Byram and Linda Bird both of Pickwick Dam; and brother, J.D. Davis of Arlington, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. Davis and Geneva Ruth (Clovis) Davis; and brother, Kenneth Davis.
