Mr. Robert Gene Craddock, 75, of Troy, formerly of the Dixie community, died 5:19 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in the emergency room at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Brother Robert Johnson will officiate.

Mr. Craddock was born April 21, 1934, in Obion County, son of the late Walter B. and Ozell (Johnson) Craddock. He married the former Katheryne McDaniel on June 18, 1954. She died February 17, 2004. He had been the owner and operator of Craddock and Sons Meat Processing Plant for 34 years, was a member of Antioch Union Church, the Roger Coleman Sunday School Class, was a avid high school basketball fan and quail hunter. Mr. Craddock also served in the National Guard.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Scotty and Carol Craddock and Chris and Kelli Craddock all of Troy; five grandchildren, Blake Craddock of Greenfield, Rachel Craddock of Tampa Bay, Florida, Dalton Craddock of Trenton and Tanner Craddock and Trent Craddock both of Troy; his great grandson; his sister, Madgeline Warren of Rives; and his brother, Buddy Craddock of the Crystal community.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

Pallbearers to serve will be Dr. Steve Beachum, Jamie Roach, Blake Craddock, Roy Logan, Johnny Craddock and Charlie Moran.

Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Jimmy Whitby, Jimmy Hayes, Randy Barnes, Larry Forrester and members of the Roger Coleman Sunday School Class.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to: St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
