Mr. Edward Eugene "Gene" Brunswick, Sr., 77, of Union City passed away 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tommy Willingham of the Bogus Hollow community.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Timmy White will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Bob Reavis, Michael Fletcher, Mack Cooper, Hank Keeling, David Goff and Mike Thompson.
Gene was born December 6, 1942, in Fulton County, Kentucky, son of the late Edward Vernon and Mildred Lorene (Barr) Brunswick. He retired from Ingram Barge as a river boat captain after 47 years of service. Gene was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by one daughter, Karen Willingham (Tommy) of the Bogus Hollow community; two sons, Eddie Brunswick (Cindy) of the Bogus Hollow community and Steve Brunswick (Rama) of Cosby; one sister, Janet Baggett (Donald) of Union City; one brother, Bobby Joe Brunswick (Bonnie) of Woodland Mills; one half brother, Joe Mack Brunswick (Robin) of the Brownsville communtiy; three stepsisters, Sandy Miller of Memphis, Nancy Kunselman of Houston, Texas and Linda Holcombe of Union City; one stepbrother, Thomas McCollum (Lisa) of Reidland; three grandchildren, Bo Vise (Krista) and Anna Nunnery (Ricky) all of Union City; and Meganne Lee of Cosby; two stepgranddaughters, Heather Jelonek (Ricky) and Ashley Willingham all of Union City; four great grandchildren, Kinna Vise, Harper Vise, Benjamin Lee and Gabriel Lee; and six step great grandchildren, Taylor Lane, Collin Lane, Hutson Jelonek, Emme Jelonek, Evan Jelonek and Lawson Jelonek.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ann Brunswick; and one step sister, Martha Jean Forsythe.
