Mr. Gaylon Evans, 58, of Union City died March 25, 2011 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Second Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 831 Everett Blvd., Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Gaylon was born April 9, 1952, in Kennett, Missouri, son of the late Thomas W. and Wanda (Huskey) Evans. He grew up in Dexter, Missouri and was a 1970 graduate of Dexter High School. He attended Mid America Nazarene College in Olathe, Kansas. Gaylon moved to Union City in 1977 and was a retired builder and contractor and had been employed by the former McAdoo Builders Supply. Gaylon had served as a Little League baseball coach and a Little Twister basketball coach both in Union City.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy (Terry) Evans, whom he married on May 15, 1973; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Nancy Evans of Summerville, South Carolina and Daniel and Elizabeth Evans of Hendersonville; his grandson, Coen Michael Evans of Hendersonville; his sister, Ann Evans Owens of Olathe, Kansas; his mother-in-law, Lucile Terry of Evans, Colorado; and his sister-in-law, Toni Hooten of Greeley, Colorado.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Evans.

The family will receive friends in the Rosewood Room at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Cox, Jerry Knight, Pat Haygood, Jamie Rainey, Homer Lawson, Chuck Doughten and Joe Neil Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Goletto, John McAdoo, Jerry Guy, Rob Terrell, Rene' Martinez and John Warner.
