Mr. Gary Whitaker, 70, of Troy passed away 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Diversicare of Martin.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Terrace Hill Cemetery. Brother Phillip Senn will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Gary,"Snowman" was born May 8, 1954, in Stockbridge, Michigan, son of the late Willard and Birdie (Penix) Whitaker. He married Janet Gail (Fletcher) Whitaker April 22, 1978.  She passed away September 18, 2014. He then married Janice (Kimmell) Whitaker July 5, 2018.  She survives. He was a former police officer for the Town of Troy and Obion, and a truck driver for Coffey Construction Company.

He is also survived by two sons, Jason Whitaker (Whitney) of Crawfordsville, Arkansas and Joseph Gorney of Vidor, Texas; one daughter, Kylene Gorney of Union City; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Diane Bunker (Ruhl) of Dansville, Michigan.

He was also preceded in death by one brother.
