William Gary Weaks, 80, of Union City passed away Saturday morning, December 12, 2015, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. David Kendall will officiate. Entombment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Eric Brann, Steven Weaks, Shawn Weaks, Matthew Morrison, Alonzo King and Sam Kendall.
Honorary pallbearer will be Leon Brann.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, Tennessee 38281.
Mr. Weaks was born November 15, 1935, in Obion County, son of the late Samuel Calvin and Lottie (Kimble) Weaks. He married Ella (Burton) Weaks January 29, 1956. She survives. Mr. Weaks had been employed as a salesman for the former Shelby-Skipwith Company in Memphis and the former K T Distributors in Union City. He was a member of Rives Church of Christ where he had served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Weaks served in the Tennessee National Guard 913th Engineering Company in Union City for 20 years and had been a member of the Union City Civitan Club and had served as president of the Union City High School Band Boosters.
He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Randy Brann of Union City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Regina Weaks and Kevin and Missy Weaks all of Union City; eight grandchildren and the spouses of two, Rachel and Matthew Morrison and Eric Brann all of Smyrna, Steven Weaks, Shawn Weaks and Amber Weaks and Patrick Moore all of Union City and Jeremy Moore and Scott and Karla Brimer all of Mayfield, Kentucky; and two great grandchildren, Trevor Brimer and Tracen Brimer both of Mayfield, Kentucky; one brother, Lawrence Weaks of Tiptonville; and two sisters.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
