Obituary

Mr. Frederick Lee "Fred" Mahan, 56, of Joelton passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Cress Harris and Brother Shawn White will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Bryce Harris, Brennan Wicker, David Scarborough, Kyle McClure, Bob Nichols and Byron Brown.

Visitation will be held held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Fred was born March 30, 1966, in Union City, son of Jurline (Sapp) Mahan Harris of Union City and the late Morris Mahan. He was a certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic and worked for Contour Aviation in Smyrna.  Fred was a 1984 graduate of Obion County Central High School, studied at U.T. Martin and was a graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He is also survived by his sister, Bonita Mahan Lawrence (Bill) of Woodland Mills; his step father, Cress Harris of Union City; two step sisters, Cheryl McClure and Melinda Harris Wicker (Brennan) all of Union City; his step brother, Cyril Harris (Paula) of Union City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie Lee Sapp, Ruthie Mae Sapp, Jack Mahan and Ora Lee Mahan.
