Floyd Staten,
Jr.
April 12, 1942 – January 20, 2013
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett and Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Van Hazlewood, Dennis Mires, Joseph Brasher, Brian Hughes, Charles Connell and Royce Morgan.
Mr. Staten was born April 12, 1942, in Crittenden County, Arkansas, son of the late Floyd Alvin Staten, Sr. and the late Elsie (McIntosh) Staten. He married Donna (McCullough) Staten August 28, 1966. She survives. Mr. Staten was a retired food inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City and a United States Air Force veteran.
He is also survived by his three daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra and Darren Doss and Connie Bargery all of Union City and Suzanne Staten of Columbia; five grandchildren, Rebecca Bargery, Emily Bargery, Lacy Bargery, Jackson Doss and Jonathan Doss all of Union City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rebecca and Perry Jarman, Margie and Don Fuller and Sarah and Joe Odom all of Paragould, Arkansas; his mother-in-law, Dorothy McCullough of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeff Fuller.
