Mrs. Evelyn Modine Talkington, 73, of Ridgely died 4:40 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely. Brother Paul Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Girard Cemetery in Girard, Illinois at a later date.

There will be no visistation.

Mrs. Talkington was born January 12, 1938, in Lake County, daughter of the late James Leonard and Mable (Traughber) Barnes. She married Robert Talkington on June 30, 1979. He survives. She was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Center in Ridgely.

She is also survived by three sons, Fred Stabenow of Minnesota, David Weiner of Austin, Texas and Mark Stabenow of Obion; three daughters, Kathryn Patterson of Ridgely, Judith Chryzanoski of Mesa, Arizona and Rusy Lee Schultz of Glendale, Arizona; a granddaugher whom she raised as a child, Terra Harrison of Wisconsin; two step sons, Carl Talkington of Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Talkington of Wisconsin; two step daughters, Kimberly Eckhoff and Shirley Talkington both of Wisconsin; her sister, Cyndi Beymer of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Joel Barnes of Niles, Michigan and James Dezzi Barnes of Ridgely; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Barnes.
