Mrs. Evelyn Smith, 78, of Obion died 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Michael Julian will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Michael Mayse, Brian Hollingsworth, Brent Fielder, Billy Fielder, Melvin Hollingsworth and Kyle Fielder.

Mrs. Smith was born August 28, 1935, in Dyer County, daughter of the late Leslie and Louise (Fleming) Hollingsworth. She had been employed at the former Salant & Salant in Obion and the former Troy Manufacturing. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Smith of Obion; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Agnes Hollingsworth and Dorothy and Billy Fielder all of Obion and Virginia Mayse of Troy; two brothers and one brother-in-law, Melvin Hollingsworth of Obion and Danny and Vickie Hollingsworth of Newbern; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Len Hollingsworth.
