Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at East View Cemetery. Dr. Cecil Sewell will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Gene Williams, William "Red" Reese, Danny Elks, Gary Francis, Bob Chambers and Bill Flood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobbye Presson, Faye Elks, Penny Oseman and Carol Baxter.

Mrs. Howard was born July 7, 1915, in New Albany, Mississippi, daughter of the late William A. and Iris (Nelson) Beard. She married John Dennison Howard on December 20, 1936. He died January 2, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Union City. Mrs. Howard was an avid bridge player and golfer.

She is survived by her daughter, Kaye Patterson of Memphis; her son, Bill Howard of Union City; three grandchildren, Russ Patterson of Memphis, Julie White of Jackson, Mississippi and Robert Howard of Union City; and three great grandchildren, Emily Pittman of Jackson, Mississippi, Darrin Howard and Marissa Howard both of Woodland Mills.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jerry Patterson; two sisters, Mrs. Paul D. Williams and Mary B. Bunton; and two brothers, William Nelson Beard and V.N. Beard.
