Obituary

Mr. Ernest Russell "Ernie" Skinner, 76, of Union City passed away 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Larry Hitesman and Brother James Kinsey will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richie Fickle, Eddie Fickle, Jimmy Turner, Will Turner, J. Paul Turner and Trip Roby.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Mr. Skinner was born January 11, 1940, in Gideon, Missouri, son of the late Elmer Joseph and Mabel Helen (Walker) Skinner. He married Iris Rebecca (Morris) Skinner July 12, 1980. She survives. Mr. Skinner retired after thirty years of service with the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church.

He is also survived by one daughter, Sherry (Tim) Brown of Advance, Missouri; one son, Russell (Angie) Skinner of Paragould, Arkansas; two stepdaughters, Denise (Jimmy) Turner of Martin and Kris Roby of Samburg; two stepsons, Richie Fickle and Eddie (Juni) Fickle all of Samburg; and two brothers, Winfred (JoAnn) Skinner of Gideon, Missouri and Sammie (Barbara) Skinner of St. Louis, Missouri.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Norma Skinner Leach; and one brother, Alvin Skinner.
