Eric Scott Hinson, 44, of Troy passed away 6:54 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Terry Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Adam Pruitt, Andy Garrett, Andy Huff, William Andecover, Jerry Wayne Pate, Clyde Pate, Brian Eaves, Shane Eaves and Kenneth Williams.

Eric was born September 12, 1979, in Union City, son of Kay (Calhoun) Hooper and the late Mark Randall Hinson. He married Elizabeth (Ward) Hinson February 23, 2013. Eric had been employed as a construction worker and loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hinson of Troy; his mother, Kay Hooper of Union City; one son, Dakota Hinson of Union City; one daughter, Destiny Hinson of Troy; one grandson, Bryson Holtzclaw of Troy; one brother, Dalton Hinson (Charlena) of Union City; four sisters, Misty Gwaltney (Ebb) of Hornbeak, Meghan Pruitt (Adam) of South Fulton, and Khloe Hinson and Alaina Hinson both of Union City; his grandmother, Joan Calhoun of Union City; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank Calhoun and Frank and Lois Hinson.
