Mrs. Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Cavender, 61, of the Pleasant Hill community passed away 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.

Family friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Cavender was born May 26, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, daughter of the late William Vance and Betty Jane (Dowden) Whitley Staggs. She married Charles W. Cavender March 17, 1990. He survives. Mrs. Cavender had been employed as a registered nurse for Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis and Union City and Gibson General Hospital in Trenton. She attended First Assembly of God in Union City.

She is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Melodie Barger of the Pleasant Hill community; one granddaughter, Bethany Paige Barger of the Pleasant Hill community; two stepsons, Allen Cavender of Jackson and Tim Cavender of Dresden; one step grandson, Garret McCord of Southaven, Mississippi; one step granddaughter, Haley McCord of Newbern; one sister, Sherry Lynn Edwards of Conway, Arkansas; and two brothers, William Daniel Whitley of Shirley, Arkansas and Robert Lee Staggs of Conway, Arkansas.
