Eleanor Kinsey, 87, of Knoxville and formerly of Union City passed away 1:44 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2023, at The Courtyards Senior Living in Oak Ridge.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Eleanor's children will officiate. Burial will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Christian Merrill, Jackson Merrill, Steven Kinsey, Nicholas Beam, Jeremiah Thompson and Brandon White.

Eleanor was born May 17, 1936, in Nashville, daughter of the late Arthur Wheeler and the late Margaret (Todd) Wheeler Hollis. She married Rev. James Kinsey November 25, 1954. He preceded her in death October 5, 2021. Eleanor had been employed as a clerical worker at the Obion County Court House and in medical records at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. She was a 1954 graduate of the former Rutherford High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. She was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Eleanor was a dedicated minister's wife and an encourager to others.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Merrill and husband Christian of Knoxville; two sons, Mark Kinsey and wife Cherri of Zachary, Louisiana and Steve Kinsey and wife Kelley of Nebo, North Carolina; two sisters, Frances Goble of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ann Kemp of Rutherford; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her step father, LD Hollis; and one brother, Richard Hollis.
