Esther Elaine Smith, 68, of Union City passed away Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025, at her home.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025, at Hornbeak City Cemetery. Pastor Russell Zik will officiate.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elaine was born March 24, 1956, in Orange, Texas, daughter of the late Clifton Bonner and Estelle Marie (Chumley) Smith. She retired as a correctional officer for Davis Correctional Facility in Holdenville, Oklahoma after 17 years of service. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading and watching movies.

She is survived by one daughter, Alaine Spears and husband Josh of Union City; two sons, James Smith III and wife Susan of Vidor, Texas and Shawn Wornell; four grandchildren; and one sister, Susan.
