Edna Stephens 1920-2014
Mrs. Edna Beatrice Stephens, 93, of Union City died 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at the Obion County Nursing Home. She had made her home at 1021 East Church Street in Union City for 71 years prior to her health declining.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Rosewood Room at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Clark Brown and Brother Terry Council will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of services Friday.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church, 420 East Main Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Mrs. Stephens was born November 18, 1920, in Graves County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ernest Roy and Gertie Octiva (Lassiter) Yates. She married Raymond Glenn Stephens July 28, 1939. He died June 22, 1988. Mrs. Stephens was a member of First United Methodist Church in Union City, the Margaret Carter Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She was a professional seamstress for many years and a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Glenda Doss and Janice Diane Stephens both of Union City and Millie and Dr. Clark Brown of Burns; four grandchildren and the spouses of three, Darren and Sandra Doss of Union City, Travis Mostoller of Perth, Australia, Chad and Holly Brown of Louisville, Kentucky and Todd and Kelly Brown of Talbot; and six great grandchildren, Elizabeth Brown of Louisville, Kentucky, Emily Brown of Madisonville, Kentucky, Eddie Durrett of Louisville, Kentucky, Ben Chandler of Talbot and Jackson and Jonathan Doss both of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by one sister; and two brothers.
