Joseph Edward "Eddie" Spicer, 65, of Union City passed away 2:58 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Mike Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Spicer, Evan Spicer, Jacob Vancleave, Kyle Bluehorse, Larry Mitchell, Jr. and Randy Ursery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Elvis Stewart, Jr., Chase Taylor, Dylan Taylor and Bobby Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Eddie was born July 26, 1956, in Tiptonville, son of the late J.T. and Alma Geraldine "Jerry" (Wallace) Spicer. He married Tammy (Reynolds) Spicer December 3, 1980. She survives. Eddie retired in 1994 from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He was employed as a computer programmer with Federal Express from 1994 until his retirement in 2017. Eddie volunteered at the Neighborhood Christian Center in Memphis where he taught after school computer classes. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, mowing, camping and sitting by a camp fire.

He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Leslie Spicer of Munford; two grandsons, Ethan Spicer and Evan Spicer both of Munford; one sister and her husband, Cissy and Steve McComb of Heber, Utah; and four brothers and their wives, Glen and Patti Spicer of Jackson and Rick and Millie Spicer, Robert and Elisha Spicer and Tim and Marlene Spicer all of Samburg.
