Mr. Edd Keiser Thornton, Sr., 66, of Union City passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. Brother Walt Asher will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Edd Thornton, Jr., Tyler Thornton, Clint Jones, Edward Morris, Preston Morris and Chad Thornton.

Edd was born December 11, 1952, in Obion County, son of the late Fred and Polly (Keiser) Latimer. He had been employed at the former Beck & Rippy and the former Sta Rite both in Union City.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Jones of Union City; one son, Edd Thornton, Jr. (Connie) of Morgan City, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Tyler Thornton (Kayla) of Patterson, Louisiana, Dylan Thornton of Morgan City, Louisiana and Clint Jones (Stacey) of Troy; and three great grandchildren, Aiden Thornton and Christian Cook both of Patterson, Louisiana and Kendra Jones of Troy.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Andy Kay Anderson; and one brother, Craig Thornton.
