Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett and Brother Ed Eubank will officiate. Burial will follow in Tansil Cemetery near Sharon.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Jody Hazlewood, Matthew Hazlewood, Madison Hazlewood, Bretton Hazlewood, Tommy Asher, Pete Cook, Jordan Hazlewood and Dusty Fuqua.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Boone, Charles Ogg, Harry B. Freeman, Joe Davidson, Richard Davidson, Robert Ainley, Curtis Hayes, Jimmy Gardner and Walter Lamb.
Mr. Cook was born November 12, 1926, in Wheeler, Mississippi, son of the late John Henderson and Mattie Lou (Blasingame) Cook. He married the former Wilma Fern Childers on August 14, 1948. She died September 6, 1994. Mr. Cook was the retired owner and operator of the former Sharon Implement Company and a member of Daystar Bible Church near Dresden.
He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Van Hazlewood of Martin, Barbara and Matt Hazlewood of the Sidonia community, Debbie and Ken Asher of Union City and Donna and Ed Eubank of Greenfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry Joe Cook and Michael and Tammy Cook all of Martin; his sister and brother-in-law, Easter and David Owens of Union City; his brother and sister-in-law, Johnie and Peggy Cook of Union City; twelve grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
