Elmer Earl Beeler, 90, of Union City passed away 5:50 a.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Barry Lofton in Troy.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Bill George, Brother Bill Irvin and Brother Charles Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Steve Adcock, Jamie Lofton, Robbie Beeler, Remington Beeler, Jim Borgman and John Castellano.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Kizer, Jerry Davis, Allen Nohsey, David Lusk and members of the Eddie Cox Senior Citizens Center.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Eddie Cox Senior Citizens Center, 622 S. Depot Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Mr. Beeler was born September 27, 1925, in Newbern, son of the late John and Elma (Snead) Beeler. He married Jean (Jonas) Beeler March 9, 1946. She preceded him in death on March 8, 1991. Mr. Beeler was a retired farmer and a member of Sunswept Baptist Church. He was a member of the Eddie Cox Senior Citizens Center where he was an avid card playerand the proud holder of many winning trophies. Mr. Beeler loved dancing and talking about farming.
He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Alice Beeler of Rives; one sister, Lucille Brand of Pocahontas, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jayne Adcock of Troy, Kristy Owens of Dyersburg, and Jamie Lofton, Robbie Beeler and Chris Beeler all of Union City;
seven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, James Earl Beeler and Kenneth Wayne "Toby" Beeler; six sisters; and one brother.
