Brother Dwayne Ervin, 77, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 8:24 a.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Brother Justin Hiens, Brother Trino Mejia, Brother Phil Hall and Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Republican Grove Cemetery in Trezevant.

Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Isaac Ervin, Joseph Mallonee, Bo Rider, Andrew Crossett, Jody Browning, Jeremy Browning, Eli Ervin and Jack Walker.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Honduras Building Fund, c/o Second Baptist Church, 831 N. Everett Blvd., Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Bro. Ervin was born February 28, 1938, in Trezevant, son of the late Jodie Henderson and Gillie Bea (Johns) Ervin. He married Dorothy "Dot" (Cross) Ervin August 17, 1956. She survives. Bro. Ervin served as minister of missions at Second Baptist Church and had led numerous local and national mission trips with Second Baptist and also with the Weakley County Baptist Association. He had pastored at Beech Springs Baptist Church and Sand Hill Baptist Church both in Gleason, West Union Baptist Church in Dresden, Old Bethel Baptist Church in Palmersville and Bible Union Baptist Church in Martin. He had been the owner and operator of the former Christian Book Store in Martin and McKenzie and the former Bridal Link and the former Frame Shop in Union City. Bro. Ervin was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was the former teacher of the Trailblazer Sunday School Class.

He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Eddie Mallonee of Lexington, Kentucky; his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Lisa Ervin of Union City; his sister, Peggy Jo Hopper of McKenzie; eight grandchildren, Amber Waddell, Isaac Ervin, Jospeh Mallonee, Elly Crossett, Kristy Rider, Kelly Rider, Bo Rider and Eli Ervin; and five great grandchildren, Madeline Underwood, Marley Waddell, Grace Crossett, Andie Crossett and Bentley Rider.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dean Hargrove and Ruby Walker.
