Mrs. Dorothy Gordon, 83, of Rives died 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Larry Hitesman and Brother James Kinsey will officiate. Burial will follow in Stanleys Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Gordon was born November 8, 1926, in Weakley County, daughter of the late William Wesley and Gladys May (Tate) Glover. She married Richard Gordon on September 8, 1959. He survives. Mrs. Gordon had been employed as a nurses aide at the former Obion County General Hospital and a machine operator at the former Salant & Salant and the former Gurien Finishing Company. She was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church.

She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry T. and Delores Moore of Rives; her sister, Shelby Mayhall of Fulton, Kentucky; her brother, Neal Glover of South Fulton; four grandchildren, Jerry Moore Jr. of Clinton, Kentucky, Charles Moore of Rives, Larry Gene Mills of Pensacola, Florida and Regina McCaully of Beaumont, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Burton; her sister, Evelyn Moore and her brother, Glynn Glover.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Moore Jr., Charles Moore, Jerry Moore III, Kevin Bullion, Bill Hatchett and Rick Brown.
