Ms. Dorotha Bell Mitchell, 87, of Troy died 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Union City.

Funeral services for Ms. Mitchell will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother William Matheny will officiate. Burial will follow in Triangle Cemetery .

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Matheny, Bobby Matheny, Shane Matheny, Austin Matheny, Corey Perry and Joseph Curl.

Ms. Mitchell was born April 2, 1925, in Obion County, daughter of the late Charles Lee and Nannie Bell (Davis) Nix. She was a retired inspector at the former Troy Manufacturing and was a member of the former Troy Church of God.

She is survived by four sisters, Hattie Matheny of Troy, Georgia Duren of Obion, Loretta Turner of Bald Knob, Arkansas and Louise McMahan of Conway, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; her special friend, Martha Shannon of Troy; and her great great niece and great great nephew who were her care givers, Miranda Matheny and Garrett Matheny both of Troy.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Hessie Johnson.
