Obituary

Donnie Sutton, 82, of Hickman, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord 6:29 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at David's Chapel Baptist Church in the Brownsville community. Brother Charles Southerland and Brother Mark Lambert will officiate. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David's Chapel Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Terry Crittendon, Hunter Grissom, Bentlee Johnson, Jason Phillips, Jeff Boyd and Trea Hopper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom McCollum and Wayne McCollum

Donnie was born August 6, 1940, in Berkley, Kentucky, son of the late James Arthur and Easline (Beshears) Sutton. He married Jean (McKenzie) Sutton October 21, 1999. She survives. Donnie served in the United States Army in France and Germany. He was a retired river boat captain for 35 years and retired from Choctaw Transportation. Donnie was a member of David's Chapel Baptist Church.

He is also survived by two daughters, Kristi Millward and husband Dwayne Cryer of Splendora, Texas and Michelle Rodgers of Dyersburg; one son, Donnie Joe Sutton and wife Michelle of Franklin; one step daughter, Billie Jean Martin of Hickman, Kentucky; one sister, Martha Langlois of Hickman, Kentucky; five grandchildren; one step granddaughter; three great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Ronnie Sutton; and four sisters, Dathel Kivett, Anna Johnson, Betty Morgan and Ethel Mae Griffin.
