Donnie Edmundson's Obituary
Donald Marion "Donnie" Edmundson, 72, of Munford passed away 3:37 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was a former resident of Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Cecil Sewell will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Mike Reese, Steve Hudson, Steve Beecham, Jimmy Higgins, Gerry Sanders and Gregory Ponton.
Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Charles "Chief" Peters.
Donnie was born April 23, 1946, in Union City, son of the late Paul and Marguerite (Chumley) Edmundson. He married Shirley (Cochrum) Edmundson August 4, 1979. She survives. Donnie was a 1965 graduate of Union City High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969. He was a federal firefighter/EMT at the Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington and retired in October 2008.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Gregory Ponton of Atoka; his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Connie Edmundson of Pace, Florida; three grandchildren, Brock Edmundson, Courtney Jeter and Jennifer Jeter all of Pace, Florida; one great grandson, Preston Jeter of Pace, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Sandra Edmundson of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Edmundson; and by one nephew, Lane Edmundson.
