Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Salem Cemetery near Union City. Brother James Kinsey will officiate.

There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Caldwell, Kyle Caldwell, Nathan Smith, Lane Grooms, Corey Mullis and James Grooms.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Grooms and Kenneth Shannon.

Mr. Smith was born June 13, 1939, in Dyer County, son of the late Albert Boone and Anna Kate (Fuqua) Smith. He married Jo Ann (Reagan) Smith in 1960. He had worked as a cashier for National Life and Accident Insurance Company and had been employed at Budget Books and The Locker Room in Union City. He was an avid horseman and a member of the former Obion County Saddle Club. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa D. Grooms of Troy; two sons, Eric D. Smith of Smyrna and Jeffrey L. Smith of Union City; four sisters, Wanda Brandon of Dinuba, California, Mary Payne and Katherine Eudaley both of Dyersburg and Barbara Holden of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Samantha Jo Smith; and three sisters, Geraldine Edwards, Etheline Tipton and Minnie Gregson.
