Obituary

Mr. Donald Ray "Don" Allen, 81, of Union City passed away 7:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Stephen Sutton will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery near Troy.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Sanders, Gary Olive, R.C. Parish, David James, Dan Blakely and Scott Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Turner, George Goddard, James Smothers, Patrick James, Royce Oliver and Daris Jones.

Don was born June 10, 1938, in Salem, Illinois, son of the late William "Bill" and Ruby O'Brien Allen. He graduated high school in Marquand, Missouri. Don married Linda (Callis) Allen on June 11, 1980. She survives. He served in the United States Army and retired in 1998 from Goodyear Tire in Union City after 30 years of service. He was a member of Bishop Street Church of Christ in Union City. Don enjoyed riding horses and spending time at Wrangler Campground, going on cruises and spending time with family and friends.

He is also survived by four children, Donald (Rhonda) Allen of Eureka, Missouri, Timothy (Susie) Allen of Martin, David Puckett of Union City and Laura (Dan) Blakely of Rives; eight grandchildren, Nikki (Mike) Sinopoli, Hunter Allen, Courtney Allen, Tyson Allen, Samantha (Richard) Lock, Cory Allen, Cason Allen, Jake (Samantha) Blakely and Hannah Blakely; three great grandchildren, Lily Sinopoli, Carson Sinopoli and Harrison Lock; two sisters, Lora (Patrick) James of South Fulton and Rose (Royce) Oliver of Fulton, Kentucky; and three brothers, Harold (Jan) Allen, George (Elaine) Allen and Merle (Judith) Allen all of South Fulton.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Jason Allen; two sisters, Barbara Tidwell and Mary Olive; and two brothers, Charles Allen and Dwayne Allen.
