Dixie June Vaught, 78, of Union City passed away 5:45 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at The Waters of Union City.

Funeral services will be private.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dixie was born December 7, 1943, in Monticello, Arkansas, daughter of the late Johnnie Hall Etheridge, Sr. and the late Gwendoline (Tumlison) Etheridge. She married Gerald Vaught August 3, 1984. He preceded her in death April 22, 2018. Dixie had been employed as a bus driver for Lake Road Elementary. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the Union City Police Department.

She was "Granny" to Ja, Kelly and Charlee Key of Union City.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Vaught; her stepson, Denver Vaught; and her brother, Johnnie Etheridge, Jr.
