Diane (Roney) Flippen, 86, of the Shawtown community passed away 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at Cobbs Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Calhoun will officiate.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Diane was born April 18, 1933, in the Shawtown community, daughter of the late Eric Thomas and Ruth Rilla (Hayes) Roney. She married Jack Flippen October 18, 1951. He preceded her in death December 7, 2009. She and her late husband had owned and operated Flippen Fruit Farms for 59 years. Diane and Jack were the producers of Flippen Fried Pies, which were featured on the Food Network and which gained a nationwide customer base. She and her husband also hosted numerous large horticultural conferences at their Shawtown fruit farm. Diane was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Pam Killion of the Shawtown community and Suzie Hoover (Jim) of Sigel, Pennsylvania; one son, Hayes Flippen (Kina) of the Shawtown community; one sister, Jo Fox of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Steve Killion.
