Debbie (Shields) Matheny, 66, of Troy passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Union City Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday at Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Debbie was born November 24, 1959, in Union City, daughter of the late Charlie "Shorty" and Virgie Mae (Elam) Shields. She married Lonnie Matheny February 12, 1995. Debbie was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Lonnie Matheny of Troy; one stepson, Chad Matheny of Yuma, Arizona; one stepdaughter, Bridgette Matheny of Sugarland, Texas; one sister, Vickie Rhoades (Kenneth) of Union City; one brother, Larry Shields (Nancy) of Bartlett; and one uncle, Johnny Elam of Dickson.
