Obituary

David Ray "Hee Haw" Wilson, 69, of South Fulton passed away 9:52 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Pastor Russell Zik and Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Gouger, Aaron Thompson, Bob Yates, Russ Yates, Mitchell Wilson, Eric Wilson, Brent Wilson, Keith Elliott and Bobby Joe Toon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Taylor, Seth Taylor and members of the Killer Deer Club.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Harrah's Hope House , 718 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38103.

David was born March 2, 1953, in Mayfield, Kentucky, son of the late Bill and Rita (Courtney) Wilson. He married Betty June (Preuett) Wilson May 27, 1978. She survives. David was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He enjoyed meeting with friends at Penny Hill Shoppe in Union City for breakfast each morning. He loved going to the Weakley County Senior Citizen's Center and playing cards with his friends there. David was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Mike Larkins Sunday school class. He was a friend to to all who knew him and his laughter was contagious. David's love for his family was phenomenal. He was especially fond of his beloved cat Muffin. He worked for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 38 years.

He is also survived by two sons, Jamie Wilson (Fatemah) of Stuttgart, Germany and formerly of South Fulton and Jason Wilson (Sonya) of Caruthersville, Missouri; three step daughters, Lori Griffin (Virgil) of Troy, Sherri Smith of Hornbeak and Patti Gouger (Chris) of Madisonville, Kentucky; one step son, Tim Thompson (Marlene) of Powell; 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; five sisters, Willene Thomas (Leo) and Joan Toon all of Fancy Farm, Kentucky, Laverne Elliott of Bardwell, Kentucky, Rose Lanham of Louisville, Kentucky and Judy Kilcoyne (Gayle) of Spring Hill, Florida; and five brothers, Larry Wilson (Delorese) of Arlington, Kentucky and Glenn Wilson (Barbara Sue), Freddy Wilson (Janet), Algene Wilson (Debbie) and Steve Wilson all of Fancy Farm, Kentucky.

He was also preceded in death by one step daughter, Robbie Lofton; two sisters, Carolyn Shockley and Mary Gladys Wilson; and two brothers, Benny Wilson and Maurice Wilson.
