Mr. David Wallace Tomlinson, 81, of Union City passed away 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Sunswept Baptist Church. Brother Steve Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and at Sunswept Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Larry Tomlinson, Jerry Tomlinson, Robert Tomlinson, Roy Stewart, James Cheney and Shaun Gilman.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Ed Tomlinson, Wayne Tomlinson, Harold Tomlinson, Hugh Tomlinson, Larry Dwyer and deacons of Sunswept Baptist Church.

Mr. Tomlinson was born January 28, 1938, in Carroll County, Kentucky, son of the late William "Willie" and Florence (Skiles) Tomlinson. He married Marcella (Hunt) Tomlinson July 16, 1961. She survives. David had been employed at Kawneer Doors in Carrollton, Kentucky. He managed a bowling alley in Carrollton. David had also been a home builder while living in Kentucky. The family moved to Union City where David served as plant superintendent of Kohler. David was a charter member of Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City where he played a part in the construction of the church. While at Sunswept Baptist David had served as a long time deacon and was in the choir. He had worked with the youth at the former Beulah Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church both in Union City for many years. David had served in the Kentucky National Guard for six years.

He is also survived by one daughter, Danita Gilman (Shaun) of Munford; two sons, David Owen Tomlinson (LaDonna) of Union City and Darwin Tomlinson of New York City, New York; six grandchildren, Scott Gilman of Wales, United Kingdom, Kandace Cheney (James) and Elliott Tomlinson all of Union City and Lucas Bryce Wallace Gilman, Gabriel Shaun Marcellas Gilman and Isabella Irene Mae Gilman all of Munford.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Tomlinson, Ruth Whitaker, Johnnie Tomlinson and Thelma "Sissy" Tomlinson Meece; and six brothers, Roy Tomlinson, Harold Tomlinson, Lester Tomlinson, Cecil Tomlinson, Ed Tomlinson and Herbert "Turk" Tomlinson.
