Mr. Robert David Smith, 74, of Union City passed away 9:19 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at The Waters of Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Rick Burton will officiate. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery near Clinton, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Smith, Phillip McAuliffe, Spencer Minyard, Sam Minyard, Andy Minyard and Damon Bryant.

David was born February 11, 1950, in Union City, son of the late Bennie "Odis" and Virginia (Bryant) Smith.  He married Cindy (Bone) Smith in 1995.  She passed away November 29, 2012.  He worked for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a tire builder and was a member of United Steel Workers Local 878.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Woodland Mills Baptist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Griffith of Columbus, Kentucky; one son, Rodney Smith of Columbus, Kentucky; one sister, Cindy Minyard (Andy) of Union City; one grandson, Benton Griffith of South Fulton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ron Smith.
