David Lee Roper, 79, of Union City passed away 1:48 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at East View Cemetery. Brother Ron Gray will officiate.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

David was born January 8, 1944, in Union City, son of the late Arthur Clement Roper and the late Carlene (Glisson) Roper Duke. David retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was a United States Army veteran and was a member of Jones Walker VFW Post 4862 in Union City.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheree Nagel of Wisconsin; his son, Keith Roper of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sandra Duke of Bartlett.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Roper.
