Obituary

David Lewis Roberson, 78, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at his childhood home at Reelfoot Lake.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. Brother Matthew Tippit will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Josh Roberson, Porter Roberson, Sawyer Roberson, Randy Shane Roberson, Anthony Roberson and Colton Quick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry White and Jeremy Seals.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

David requested that in lieu of flowers or gifts that memorials be make to The Gideons International.

David was born January 12, 1948, in Tiptonville, son of the late Buddy and Stella (Mathis) Roberson. He married his childhood sweetheart Donna Hayes Roberson on June 7, 1969. She preceded him in death April 30, 2024. David worked in the family business from 1966 to 2011 with his late father Buddy and his brothers Randy and Terry at Reelfoot Lumber Company and was the owner of Roberson Camper Lots on Reelfoot Lake. He served on the founding board that was responsible for bringing 911 to Obion County. As a Gideon since 1972, David conducted over 500 services in all denominations across three states. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City and a former member of Wynnburg Baptist Church and had served as a deacon at both churches. David was a lay witness for 34 years preaching the gospel in over 700 churches in 15 states. David served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ his entire life spreading the gospel to thousands.

He is survived by two daughters, Alicia Tippit and husband Kelly of Reelfoot Lake and Kristi Davis and husband Brad of the Shawtown community; one son, Dave Roberson of Reelfoot Lake; two brothers, Randy Roberson and wife Daphne and Terry Roberson and wife Mary Nell all of Union City; seven grandchildren, Matthew Tippit and wife Molley of Huntingdon, Marli McMillin and husband Caleb of Union City, Mayci Hogg of the Shawtown community, Masyn Claire Roberson of Reelfoot Lake, Maggie Edwards of Troy, Claire Harrison and husband Alex of Union City and Hayden Davis and wife Mallory of Memphis; and four great grandchildren, Caleb McMillin of Union City, Kate Collins Tippit of Huntingdon, and Isla Harrison and Eden Harrison both of Union City.
