David Louis McCant, 41, of Rives passed away 11:36 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Billy Wallace, Kenneth Brady, Chris Long, Mithcell Moore, Chris Cummings and Michael Barker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sean McCant, Bobby Joe Long, Roger McCant, Dale McCant and Tom Long.
David was born April 15, 1974, in Union City, son of Yvonne Decine (Long) McCant of Union City and the late Hershel Louis McCant. He had been employed as a security guard at MTD in Martin and Tyson in Union City and was a member of Harris Station Baptist Church. David was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is also survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Dennis and Chanda McCant of New Albany, Mississippi and Donnie McCant of Rives; his niece and nephew, Paige McCant and Sean McCant both of New Albany, Mississippi; his grandmothers, Peggie Burrell and Sarah Johnson both of Union City; his uncles and aunts, Tom and Wilma Long of Martin and Dale and Kathy McCant of Union City; and numerous cousins and close friends.
He was also preceded in death by his grandfathers, Herschel Long, Hershel McCant and Lawrence Johnson.
