Mr. David Lee Byars, Sr., 68, of Union City passed away 3:40 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Justin Beard will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Byars, Frankie Molands, Cody Harris, John Harris, James Cox and Logan Eaves.

David was born October 28, 1954, in Plymouth, Michigan, son of the late Ralph and Doris Helen (Jimmerson) Byars. He married Carol (Scherffius) Byars May 28, 1977. She survives. David retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 35 years of service where he was a union steward. David was of the Baptist faith.

He is also survived by two sons, David Lee Byars, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama and Travis Ross Byars (Brittney) of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; and three grandchildren, Shelby Byars, Olivia Byars and Cameron Byars all of Mineral Bluff, Georgia.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Elizabeth Byars, Cathy Reynolds and Beverly Molands; and four brothers, Ralph Edward Byars, Rick Byars, Stewart Byars and Steve Byars.
