David Wayne Adkins, 60, of Union City passed away 6:17 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
Pallbearers will be Steve Emrich, Otis Anderson, Bo Jay Fussell, Brian Hughes, Larry Robinson and Lynn Ogden.
David was born September 7, 1960, in Tiptonville, son of the late Shirley (Anderson) Adkins. He grew up in Hornbeak and was raised by his late grandmother Annie Anderson. David married Lisa (Emrich) Adkins January 1, 1989. She survives. David worked at the former Reelfoot Packing Company in the shipping department, the former Superior Fireplace in the tech department and as a regional sales manager at Desa/FMI in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
David was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Union City where he served as an usher for many years. He was an avid animal lover and was involved in saving and rescuing many animals over the years. David leaves behind his doggies, which he loved very much.
His world revolved around his family. David's kids and grandkids were the love of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Union City; by two sons, Ben Brown (Emily) of Troy and Kyle Adkins of Brookport, Illinois; two daughters, Candace Akin (Chris) of Union City and Gina McIntosh (David) of Troy; eight grandchildren, Jack Akin, Samuel Akin and Harper Akin all of Union City, Will Brown, Bentley Brown, Ashton Sims, Rylee McIntosh and Finlee McIntosh all of Troy; two brothers, Otis Anderson (Tonya) of Yorkville and Ray Gamble (Gladys) of Hornbeak; two sisters, Donna Wilson of Newbern and Karen Johnson of Dyersburg; three sisters-in-law, Gail Anderson of Tiptonville, Judy Robinson (Larry) and Pat Ogden (Lynn) all of Union City; one brother-in-law, Steve Emrich (Missy) of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sophie Akin; his father-in-law, Bill Emrich; his sister, Janice Gamble; and two brothers, Carl Anderson and Ronnie Anderson.
