Mr. David "Dave" Prather Isbell, Sr., 74, of Union City died 10:27 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Isbell will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee, Brother Rodney Alexander and Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Second Baptist Church in Union City.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Alexander, Caleb Alexander, Trustin Curtis, Brian Hoffman, Jimmy Prather, Wilbur Betty, Bill Crigger, Jimmy Hayes and Jerry Bailey.

Mr. Dave was born October 31, 1937 , in Fulton County, son of the late Joe Newt and Katherine (Prather) Isbell. He married Barbara (Williams) Isbell on October 20, 1961. She survives.

Mr. Dave was a farmer and self employed roofer for all of his life. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City and veteran of the Army National Guard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Debbie and Rodney Alexander of Louisville and Christy and John Curtis of New Johnsonville, Tn.; one brother and sister -in-law, Billy Joe and Bonnie Isbell of Woodland Mills; one sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Buddy Stone of Memphis; five grandchildren, Staci and Brian Hoffman of Edgewood, Ky., Joshua Alexander and Caleb Alexander of Louisville, Ky. and Kayli Curtis and Trustin Curtis of New Johnsonville, Tn.; one great grandson, Andrew Hoffman of Edgewood, Ky.; Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son and daughter-in-law, David Prather Isbell, II and Becky (Thompson) Isbell.
