Darlene (Tipps) Bumpus, 64, of Union City passed away 5:09 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dan Huggins will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Shuster, Isaiah Southerland, Trevor Pollock, Tyler Wagster, Rodney Tipps and Nickolas Tarrant.

Darlene was born October 14, 1959, in Dyersburg, daughter of the late Guy Lester Tipps and Margie Irene (Moody) Tipps. She married Larry Allen Bumpus August 25, 1986. He preceded her in death January 23, 2011. She had been employed at the Union City Manor and retired from Tyson Foods and was of the Church of God faith. Darlene gave the gift of life through tissue donation.

She is survived by one daughter, Crystal Ladd (Michael) of Obion; three sons, Brian Pollock (Jodie), Jeromy Pollock (Kristeena) and Brant Bumpus (Omie) all of Union City; one sister, Susan Austin (Eldon) of Rutherford, three brothers, Tony Tipps (Kay) and Bennett Tipps (Wanda) all of Dyersburg and Marty Tipps of Union City; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Natalie Shuster; one brothers, Lester Wayne Tipps; and two sisters, Patsy Ann Patton and Shelia Cashion.
